About

About

Aerospace engineering graduate from Manchester. Now a software developer and ski instructor.

I'm Jack. I studied aerospace engineering at the University of Manchester and graduated in 2025 with a 2:1. That chapter is closed. These days I build software and teach people to ski.

On the snow

Winters, I'm a ski instructor in Japan. I'm qualified with the New Zealand Snowsports Instructors Alliance (NZSIA Level 1) and taught my first season in Niseko with Imagine Japan, working in operations as well as on the snow. Since then I've instructed with Pure Hokkaido, teaching guests of every ability.

At the desk

The rest of the year I build. Wildpack is the project I've spent the most time on: an app that turns a trip with friends into a deck of cards and a printed photo album. I built the app, the backend, the print layouts, the payments and the website myself. I also built SCAFLD for a freelance client, ran the Polybot research into Polymarket traders, and made a few small apps along the way.

Design

I came to software through design. I've worked as a graphic designer and designed for Imagine Japan, and I do all of Wildpack's branding and layouts in InDesign, Photoshop and Premiere Pro.
